BEHIND THE PAGES

Welcome to my corner of the universe—where stories, slow-burn romance, and a little bit of cosmic mystery converge.

I’m Jeannine Lawrence, and I write romantic speculative fiction exploring love, identity, and the worlds in between. If you’re drawn to reluctant heroes, high-stakes conspiracies, and love that changes everything… you’re in the right place.

I was born and raised in Philadelphia, where I live with my college sweetheart, our two wonderful daughters, and our wildly affectionate (and misbehaved) rescue mutt, Rocky.

By day, I work in the corporate world of recruiting. Every other moment, I’m writing stories, plotting my next travel adventure, and cheering my daughter on from the sidelines of a softball field.

I believe stories can change us—and that writing can be just as life-altering. Some of my most treasured experiences have come from traveling the world and connecting with other writers. Whether I’m scaling a glacier in Iceland or taking a walk through the Scottish Highlands, those journeys fuel the worlds I create on the page.

Dreamer TO AUTHOR

My writing life found new purpose when I joined Writing with the Soul, a community founded by author Adrienne Young. There, I met my two incredible critique partners, Emily Towns and Mallory Bates, whose support and inspiration shape my work and keep me sane.

Now, as the founder of The Dreamer’s Table, I’m building space for writers and storytellers to find their own inspiration—through connection, art, travel, and adventure. More on this coming soon.

I’m extremely forgetful, which makes writing intricate, twisty stories a real adventure. Thank goodness for sticky notes, plot charts, and critique partners who gently remind me what I can do.

QUICK FACTS

I’m happiest with a book in one hand and a passport in the other (preferably on a plane to somewhere ancient and mysterious).

I cannot get through the day without my emotional support Pellegrino. Obsessed is an understatement.

My favorite form of exercise? Wandering off the path and turning an innocent walk into an accidental adventure.

My eldest plays softball; my youngest draws magical creatures. Both remind me daily why I believe in the power of imagination.

I have a growing collection of extremely vulgar coffee mugs. It’s fine.

My dad gave me my first job and promptly assigned me to cleaning the office toilets. He said it would build character. He wasn’t wrong.
